Congratulations to LX Jiu-Jitsu School of Lansing, IL instructor and members!

The LX Jiu-Jitsu Association would like to congratulate Steven Kinnison, instructor at the LX Jiu-Jitsu School of Lansing, IL (Martial Athletics). On Saturday December 16th Steve fought at the CFCU event in Tinley, IL and won by submission (flying triangle) in the 3rd round. We would like also to congratulate his students William Butler and Michael Hampton for their great performance in the December 9th no Gi tournament.  We are proud to have you guys as part of the LX Jiu-Jitsu Association!

The LX Jiu-Jitsu School of Sugarland, TX will be closed from December 22nd through January 2nd. Classes will resume as usual begining January 3rd.  We look forward to seeing you back on the mat!

Women's Self Defense Seminar on December 9th!

A Women's Self Defense seminar will be held on December 9th from 12:30pm to 2pm at the main location in Sugarland, TX. The seminar will focus on techniques for self defense in real world situations. Learn how to protect yourself and the ones you love! Regardless of experience level, all women are encouraged to attend.  Registration ends on Wednesday December 6th. 1st Annual National LX Jiu-Jitsu Association Gathering is Huge Success!

More than 100 people were present at the 1st Annual National LX Jiu-Jitsu Association Gathering which was held November 5, 2006 in Houston, Texas at the world-wide headquarters of the LX Jiu-Jitsu Association. Students from all of the LX Jiu-Jitsu Association schools in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana participated in the opening cerymony and the belt and stripe promotions. This event was well received by the students and a huge success.

The LX Jiu-Jitsu Association has grown tremendously over the last year. BJJ is growing in popularity in the United States and in Texas. Leonardo Xavier, the President of the LX Jiu-Jitsu Association, is greatfull to everyone in the BJJ community who is making a positive contribution. Leo presented awards to certain people in recognition of their outstanding contribtions to Jiu-Jitsu and the LX Jiu-Jitsu family. We look forward to seeing everyone there next year! More pictures and details to follow.

Leo has just returned from New York, where he filmed the second Jiu-Jitsu Revolution Gi DVD set with his instructor Saulo Ribeiro. This DVD set will be available early next year. More to come soon!

COMING SOON! WOMEN'S SELF-DEFENSE CLASSES!!

Morning Adult classes

Starting in September, LX Jiu-Jitsu will offer 2 new class times in the morning. One is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7am to 8am and the other is from 11am to 12pm. To sign up for classes please email contact@leonardoxavier.com or visit the school on Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 7pm to 8:15pm.

WE WON THE TITLE!!

The weekend of July 8th, many members of the LX Association from Houston, Edmonton and Houma joined forces to compete in Dallas at the Elite Grapplers Championship for the bragging rights of best team in Texas. The team was composed of many white and blue belts competing for their first time as well as some masters competing as adults. It was a long day but satisfaction came in the end knowing that we earned the title as “The Number One Team In Texas”.

LX Oklahoma Seminar June 10th and 11th pictures!

Leonardo Xavier held a kids and an adult seminar on June 10th and 11th in Edmond, OK.
The kid’s seminar was fun for all.  New techniques were learned and everyone had a chance to spar with Leo. Some were even able to tap the black belt!

LX Brown belt and Ultimate Fighter 3 competitor visits LX Jiu-Jitsu in Houston

LX Jiu-Jitsu Brown belt and The UF 3 competitor, Kristian Rothaermel, visited the Leonardo Xavier Jiu-Jitsu school in Sugar Land, Texas two weeks ago. Kristian came to practice some Jiu-Jitsu skills, as well as work on some MMA skills with some of the students. Kristian sparred with some of the students and showed some of the beginners some moves. Everyone had a good time and we can't wait for Kristian to visit again. Also, we look forward to seeing Kristian in action again!

LX Oklahoma Team rocked at tournament!

Congratulations to all students and in special coach Ty Gay at LX Jiu-Jitsu School of Edmond, OK (Redline BJJ) who participated at the Southwest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Submission Grappling Challenge in Oklahoma this last Saturday May 6th.

LX Team successful at 2006 Pan American Games!

Pan Ams:

The LX association competitors did a great job at the Pan American tournament April 7-9 2006 in Carson City CA. They brought home 8 medals and gained a  lot more experience. It was also a chance to meet and see BJJ competitors from other countries perform as well.
The head instructor, Leonardo Xavier, competed as well for the first time in 3 years and brought home the gold! It was great to see him in action for the first time for most of us and we hope it won't be the last.
"I was very happy to be competing together with my students. I’m pleased  with the way my students fought and conducted themselves both on and off the mat. Each tournament we seem to progress as a team and have a bigger turnout. I am very excited to see what the future brings for us as a team", says Leo.

New Orleans has new LX Jiu-Jitsu School!

The school has re-opened at a new location and it is a big success. LX Brown Belt Kristian Rothermel at Ultimate Fighter 3!

The LX Association would like congratulate Kristian Rothaermel for achieving a position on the Ultimate Fighter 3. Kristian has trained hard and accomplished a lot. It says a lot about his character to overcome the recent events in New Orleans. We are extremely proud to have him as a representative of the LX Team. We are all wishing him the best of luck and are behind him 100%!

Rolker Gracie Seminar at LX Jiu-Jitsu Grand Re-Opening!

The Leonardo Xavier Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association is proud to announce an elite public seminar with Professor Rolker Gracie. Rolker Gracie is a 4th degree black belt who teaches out of Gracie Humaita in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Rolker has been teaching the art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for the past 20 years.

Rolker will join us in celebrating the grand re-opening of the new LX facility. The new facility consists of a new bigger room with new zebra mats. “I am honored to host one of my professors, mentors and friend at my school,” says Leonardo.

The seminar will be held Sunday February 26, 2006 at the Safety America Martial Arts Complex at 2595 Cordes Drive in SugarLand, Texas from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The cost is $60.00 and spaces are limited.

LX Team does it again!

The LX Team, consisting of LX Jiu-Jitsu Headquarters (Houston), LX Jiu-Jitsu School of Edmond, OK (Red Line BJJ) and LX Jiu-Jitsu school of Houma, LA (HMABJJC) members, recently competed in the Carlos Machado tournament in Dallas Texas and took the Second Place team trophy. Overall, the team put forth a great effort, performed well with great sportsmanship.

“I was very pleased to see how much progress is being shown by each athlete physically and mentally. I would also like to thank Ty Gay and Tory Bienvenu for their outstanding support of the LX Association and all the members for their dedication and love for the art of BJJ”, says Leonardo.
